Puhh, it’s hot, acording to swedish standards! It’s 28 degrees in Stockholm and my computer is packing it’s shit and saying fuck off to me (nice aussie language i picked up… from… hmm maybe jessica??
). I intend to buy a new computer asap, however even though I’m a computer nerd, I don’t know enough about computer hardware to know what I should get really.. So I intend to harass my friends.. anyway that’s not what this post is about..
As I’ve already implied I’m back in Sweden now, so this blog is kind of end of an era, that is the blog about my trip to Australia. However I intend to continue on the subject for a little while talking about how it’s coming back from Aus to Sweden, so it’s not completely over yet. As this might be more interesting for my fellow Aus friends it will be in English (remind me if I forget).
My trip back to Sweden wasn’t too bad… although it was shit.. nothing really bad happened per say but I only managed to sleep 3+0.5 hours during the whole 29 hour trip. So right now while I’m typing this I’m on my 40th hour or something with only that sleep. I tried sleeping earlier but it was too light and summery here.. Anyway let me tell you the few interesting things that did happen on my trip.
My first flight was from Melbourne to Singapore, I felt energetic and not tired at all for the first ~ 6 hours or so.. Finally when I began considering sleeping it was too late. For some reason my body hates long flights. All my limbs swell up like balloons, the most annoying was that my right hand got so swollen it started aching. I had to keep it levered (is that the right word?) so the blood would drain. However as soon as I took it down it would start aching again so this prevented me from sleeping. On the second half of my last flight my body had finally adjusted and I could sleep without my hand swelling up too much.
Going through the baggage control in Heathrow the metal detector beeped at me. So I was patted down by a guy asking if I had any sharp objects on me.. I was annoyed because I knew that I had absolutely no metal what so ever on me, so obviosly they do random check-ups on people by fake beeping, who knows maybe the guy just wanted to feel me up, gee I hope not… Another weird thing that happened was on my last flight, the second captain or whatever he’s called was calling out instructions for landing. The funny thing was after announcing; “we are arriving at”, he took a 30 second break and then added “Stockholm”. Even more funny was that he repeated it a second time taking a long break before announcing “Stockholm”. I wonder how you can be flying around the world and not knowing where you are going! I mean it was British Airways.. Any Britt should know Stockholm shouldn’t they?
It was alot more weird than I expected to come home! Maybe the lack to sleep made me a bit drugged up but I was astonished that everyone was speaking Swedish
I’m not used to strangers speaking it any more. It’s so weird how fast you get used to things. Driving back from the airport I also found myself thinking that we should be on the left side of the road, don’t worry my sister drove me! Even the road signs looked funny to me.
Gee I better stop this post here.. it’s getting a bit long.. I hope you found it at least a little bit interesting!
